Hotel & Home Design Fair Comes to Polokwane This October

This October, Polokwane is set to become a meeting point for the world of hospitality, interiors and South African design as the inaugural Hotel & HomeDesign Fair (HHDF) arrives at the T49 Hangar at Polokwane International Airport from 8 to10 October 2026.

Open daily from 09:00 to 17:00, HHDF is more than a showcase of beautiful things. It is an invitation into the business of design, bringing together the creative minds, makers, brands and decision makers shaping the spaces in which South Africa lives, works and welcomes.

Organised by Gentry Business Enterprise (Pty) Ltd, the three day fair creates a new platform in Limpopo for designers, manufacturers and small businesses to meet the people behind the next generation of hotels, lodges, homes and commercial spaces.

Think furniture that changes the mood of a room. Textiles that tell a distinctly South African story. Art, décor and hospitality concepts that transform an ordinary space into somewhere memorable. At HHDF, these ideas come together under one roof and importantly in conversation with the people who can take them from showroom floor to real world project.

With more than 60 exhibitors, the fair will showcase an eclectic mix of furniture, textiles, décor, art and hospitality offerings, reflecting the breadth of South Africa’s creative and manufacturing landscape.

Among the featured participants is MAXHOSA AFRICA, which will curate the VIP lounge and present pop up displays, bringing its unmistakable visual language and contemporary African aesthetic into the heart of the fair.

Zwakala Brewery will add another layer to the experience with a curated bar concept, while the Azael Langa Foundation and BMW Polokwane will also feature as part of the event’s carefully assembled line up.

Hospitality operators, property developers, architects, interior designers and procurement teams will have an opportunity to connect directly with exhibitors and discover products and services relevant to upcoming projects.

HHDF aims to create a pathway for SMMEs to enter new markets, establish relationships with buyers and place their products in front of the people actively sourcing for hospitality, residential and commercial developments.

In this sense, the fair is not simply presenting design but creating a marketplace around it. The programme extends beyond the exhibition stands with a panel series led by the Design Institute of South Africa (DISA).

Industry conversations will explore themes relevant to the design and hospitality sectors, while leaving visitors with time to wander, discover exhibitors and continue conversations on the floor.

An outdoor food and beer garden will offer visitors a relaxed setting to enjoy refreshments, connect with fellow attendees and take in the atmosphere of the fair.

It is an approach that feels particularly fitting for an event centred on hospitality. After all, great design is not only about how a space looks it is about how it makes people feel.

For Limpopo’s design, hospitality and property industries, HHDF arrives at an interesting moment: one in which local creativity is increasingly being recognised not only for its aesthetic value but for its potential to generate business, build brands and open doors to new markets.

From established names to emerging enterprises, the fair promises three days of ideas, encounters and opportunities with South African design at the centre of it all.
