MM: How did the brand come about?

IS: Immortal Scents is a shared vision and partnership between Justice Mutero and Thapelo Ngakane, who both understand the power of fragrance.

MM. Did you encounter any challanges when your business started?

IS:  Yes, the thought of starting from scratch was our biggest challenge. We had to work hard to introduce Immortal Scents to people who knew nothing about our brand, this required a lot of our time, marketing skills and planning. Finances play a huge role in any start of any business therefore a lot of challenges were encountered.

MM: What lessons have you learned so far about your line of business?

SI: One of our most valuable insights came from surveying and interviewing nearly 1,000 young adults, who shared how fragrance impacts their confidence.  This feedback confirmed that confidence is essential in overcoming challenges and fears, which often appear as “false evidence appearing real” (FEAR).  Ultimately,  this taught us something new about our product, our market, and the message we want to bring across through our fragrance.

MM: What is confidence?

SI: Confidence is a sense of self-belief and strength. It is a feeling of knowing that you’re ready to take on anything with grace and resilience. In the context of Immortal Scents, confidence is the essence we strive to bottle up through our scent. We want to give people that extra boost of assurance, reminding them that they’re capable of greatness.

MM: How does one choose a perfume?

SI: We believe that selecting a fragrance one should consider not only the notes but also how the scent makes them feel. Our brand makes it easier to choose fragrance, our three distinct bottle colours help guide your choice. Black for Masculine , Silver for Elegance  and Gold for Versatile.

MM: Who’s your target market?

SI: Everyone
