Lerato Kganyago

Celebrity beauty lines have been ubiquitous for the last few decades , as many of the biggest stars embarked on licensing deals with major companies to add their star power either to a fragrance or make up line. The latest iteration of the celebrity beauty line is in hair and make up with several celebrities breaking into the space.

South African model, TV/Radio presenter, businesswoman and socialite Lerato Kganyago is nothing short of amazing. The gorgeous personality who is affectionately known to her fans as ‘LKG ‘always looks radiant and turns heads everywhere she goes and this time around she’s making heads turn with her brand , using her star power for the emancipation of women..

Beauty and media mogul Lerato Kganyago, successfully launched her highly successful Flutter By LKG beauty line then tackled the sanitary wear by launching Flutter By LKG sanitary pads. The brand has revolutionized the beauty industry and offering more inclusive and expansive than that most brands typically carry.

The beauty forecast that started as an eye-lash brand has become a favourite among women who are self conscious of their day to day appearance. It has become a brand that is all about women empowerment and to know and appreciate their worth. LKG has constantly spoken out against period poverty and the injustices of period poverty in most of her engagements. The brand is not only passionate about beauty but also heavily in activism for menstrual hygiene and promotion of menstrual equity. Period poverty and inadequate menstruation health is indeed a global dilemma.

With more than 800 million women and girls who menstruate daily are ostracised from basic activities like eating certain foods or socializing globally. The unfortunate cultural shame that is also attached to menstruation and the shortage of resources stop them from either going to school or even work everyday.

Lerato is definitely not waiting for the government to take action as she has embarked on a journey to take action by providing free menstrual products to girls to help them stay in school especially in the rural areas. One of the brands proudest moments is when they hosted a virtual Period Poverty Benefit concert where Lerato Kganyago used her star power to appeal to the masses to help in the fight of this injustice. The event was indeed a success and had a star studded line up of Dj’s who put up a scintillating performances online.

Lerato Kganyago is really empowering , beautiful and successful.
