His Majesty Kgosi E M Mabalane

The Baphiring Tribal Council, under the esteemed leadership of His Majesty Kgosi E M Mabalane, in collaboration with the National Skills Fund (NSF), is proud to announce the launch of the Baphiring Agricultural Skills Development Hub. This transformative initiative is set to take place in May 2024, marking a significant milestone in the journey towards empowering the Baphiring community through agricultural development.

The Baphiring Tribal Council, nestled within the Moses Kotane Local Municipality and Bojanala District Municipality, has long been committed to driving investments and fostering development in the rural area of Baphiring. Despite facing minimal development-driven investments, particularly in agriculture, the region boasts fertile agricultural land, rich wildlife, and robust infrastructure. His Majesty Kgosi E M Mabalane, who also serves as the Executive Chairperson of Medirwe Investments, has been instrumental in spearheading efforts to revitalize farming practices in the area.

“The Baphiring people have a deep-rooted history of farming and sustainable agriculture,” remarked His Majesty Kgosi E M Mabalane. “Through the Baphiring Agricultural Skills Development Hub, we aim to reignite this tradition and empower our community, especially the youth and women, to become successful commercial farmers once again.”

The Baphiring Agricultural Skills Development Project, facilitated by Medirwe Investments, will focus on equipping the community with essential agricultural and entrepreneurial skills. This initiative seeks to address the challenges posed by unemployment, particularly among the youth, by providing training and incubation opportunities in various agricultural sub-sectors, including livestock and crop farming.

Recognizing the pivotal role of skills development in driving economic growth and fostering sustainable development, Medirwe Investments sought funding support from the National Skills Fund. Established by the government in 1999, the NSF is dedicated to supporting skills development initiatives aligned with national priorities.

“We are grateful for the support of the National Skills Fund in realizing our vision for the Baphiring Agricultural Skills Development Hub,” said Kgosi E M Mabalane.

“Together, we are paving the way for a brighter, more prosperous future for the Baphiring community.
